THE MUG CULT

from $100.00

Introducing THE MUG CULT, a community-powered membership for people who believe great coffee should be accessible—and who want to see our café continue to thrive as a vital community space.

We want quality coffee to stay available to everyone — without cutting corners, raising drink prices endlessly, or burning out our staff.

WHAT YOU GET

  • A custom MiiR tumbler illustrated by local artist and long-time café friend, Dave Battjes — the talent behind our logo, shirts, and chalk menu. (You might also know Dave’s partner, Kelly, who runs Sweet Batches and makes the beloved shortbreads and sandwich cookies you’ll always find in our café.)

  • $1 off all drinks put in your tumbler during 2026

  • $2 off batch brew coffee every Monday-Friday from 7am-9am

  • Mug Cult Happy Hour! $2 off pastries every day from 3pm to close

  • Member-Only Events

  • That warm fuzzy feeling of supporting an 18-year-old(!), woman-owned, queer-run community space!

WHAT IT COSTS

THE MUG CULT is is a sliding-scale membership. Pay what you can between $100 and $300.

  • $150 – $200 is our “fair price” (which covers costs + helps us survive)

  • $250 – $300 is the community support tier that helps others pay less

  • $100 is our access tier for those who need it

Only 48 spots. Join if you can — at the level that feels right.

WHY DID WE CREATE THESE MEMBERSHIPS?

Everything feels heavy and expensive right now — coffee, rent, groceries, all of it. But the one thing we refuse to let become a luxury is community.

Great coffee and tea matter, sure.

But what happens around them matters more.

THE MUG CULT and THE HEARTS CARD help us keep our drinks accessible, pay our baristas a living wage, and protect what this little café has become: a rough-around-the-edges, vibrant, vital community space where anyone who needs a soft landing can walk in and feel seen.

We work hard to be a safe space for queer, trans, and BIPOC folks and for artists, poets, musicians, unhoused neighbors, families, the young, the old — everyone.

And honestly? A lot of this comes from the fact that our owner and managers are parents.

We’re raising kids in this crazy world, watching them take it all in, and we want their everyday experiences to be in places where all kinds of people — all identities, all backgrounds — are loved and safe.

Where community isn’t performative, it’s lived.

This café is our circle of influence. It’s where we can help shape the future in small, everyday ways: kindness at the counter, laughter between strangers, a new friend at poetry night, a child learning that everyone belongs.

THE MUG CULT and THE HEARTS CARD help us sustain the magic of this community.

It’s your way of saying you believe in it, too.

The tumbler will be ready to pick up at the cafe the first week of December! We will text and email you to let you know when it’s ready.
